Mission Team Visits Nicaragua The Avon Lake Presbyterian Church and John Knox Presbyterian Church in North Olmsted gathered a Mission Team of 30 people to travel to Esteli, Nicaragua, from October 18 through October 26, 2007. The main purpose for the Team was to bring hope to the people through their faith in Jesus Christ. Their tasks were many: set up a medical clinic, purchase prescriptions for those in need, provide a lunch for 100 prisoners in the local prison, continue building a youth center at the Shalom Presbyterian Church, build two rooms on a home, lead a Vacation Bible School for 200 children, visit and bring personal care supplies to the poorest of the people living in the barrios, provide food and fellowship for those living near the dump area. Under the leadership of Rev. Tom MacMillan, the group provided all of this as well as participating in many worship services with the people at Shalom Presbyterian Church. Emerson Wilson is the resident pastor, along with other young men who are studying to become pastors. The joy and fellowship being shared by the Team and the beautiful people of Esteli is evident in the enclosed pictures. The work of the Lord crosses international boundaries and brings us together in faith, joy and love. Enjoy the photo album of our trip:
