The duties of the Deacons are: (1) to minister to those in need, and (2) to carry out any duties assigned by the Session (the governing body of our church). There are two committees that make up the Deacons: (1) The Fellowship Committee, and (2) The Outreach and Visitation Committee.

Health/Wellness Fair Come and enjoy our church potluck with various health care providers and wellness teachers who are all members of our church. The potluck will begin at 5:00 pm in Hart Hall. The Wellness Fair will begin around 6:00 pm in the church foyer. It will be an opportunity to talk with doctors, dieticians, physical therapists, a cardiac nurse practitioner, nutritionist, martial arts instructor and many more that are members of our own congregation. We encourage you to plan to attend this new and exciting venture. Contact Cindi Dansizen (933-6240) or any Deacon for further information.
Join in the Love Shrub fun and get to know your church family better! Simply sign-up on January 21 or January 28, and the Deacons will match you with another church member. From February 1 through February 11, send your “secret valentine” notes or messages to let them know that they are being thought of while you receive messages from another person. On Sunday, February 11, at 12:00 in Hart Hall, we will provide all those who participated with a lunch and an opportunity to meet their “secret valentine.” A surprise valentine gift will be provided by the Deacons to all who participated. All age groups are encouraged to participate. Contact Cindi Dansizen (933-6240) or any Deacon for further information.
Remember to come to the Deacon’s sponsored Easter Breakfast which will be held in Hart Hall at 10:00 am on Easter morning. Church services will be at 9:00 am and 11:00 am so all will be able to join in this important fellowship event.

Blood Drive
Sign-up on the bulletin board in the church hallway for the Blood drive, which will be held from 9:00 am until noon outside in the parking lot in the LifeShare Bloodmobile, All blood types are needed!
Please check the Deacon’s Bulletin Board in the hallway across from Dr. Yoda’s study or by the AED machine for dates and times of Adult CPR classes, First Aid classes, Standard First Aid classes and Infant and Child CPR classes. Bowling
Join us for unlimited bowling at Nautical Lanes in Avon Lake at a cost of $12 per person, which includes shoe rental, pizza and pop. Sign-ups will be held on Sundays April 22 and 29 in the church foyer.

Spring Work Day and Hot Dogs
Come and enjoy hot dogs sponsored by the Deacons after the 11:00 am service and stay to help the Property Committee clean up the church. All of the work to be done will be outside. Please bring shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, hedge trimmers, lawn edgers or whatever else you think would be useful. The Property Committee will provide plenty of instruction! Sign-up in the foyer.
Please join us from 6:30 to 8:30 pm for an old fashioned ice cream social in Hart Hall. This is a great time to invite a neighbor or friend to our church. Contact Sue Mabe at 933-3275 with questions.
Wear green, walk or ride your bike to church. If you live far, drive to the library or park at a friend’s that lives close and walk from there. Deacons will provide water bottles upon arrival. Call the church office with questions (933-6240).
Corn Roast & Cookout

Come and enjoy great roasted corn, roasted by Master Corn Roaster, Gary Uhl. We will have a dinner cookout and games for this family event. Purchasing tickets after worship services in July and August will help us plan. $5/adults – 3 years old and under/free. Call Gary Uhl (933-3884) with questions.
This is the date we will start having two worship services on Sundays; 9:30 am and 11:00 am. Celebrate the beginning of this Sunday school season with the Deacons and the Christian Education Department. The Deacons will serve “grilled” hot dogs, chips, pop and ice cream; while the Christian Education Department will host games out on the front lawn. Call the church office with questions.
