Groups meeting for Christian Fellowship:

Cord of Three Strands

 

The Cord of Three Strands is a small group made up of couples of all ages.  Their name comes from Ecclesiastes 4:12  “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.  A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”  They meet on the second Friday of the month at 7:30 pm in each other’s homes.  At Christmas time, they meet at a restaurant and in the summer they have a picnic. They enjoy refreshments, fellowship, and discussion on topics that range from social issues, to a Bible verse, or current events, or something going on in their lives or at the church.

 

Care and Share Circle

 

Ages 60-90

This is a group of senior women who meet for fun, fellowship and socializing at lunch the second Tuesday of every month from September through May at a local restaurant.

 

The Serendipity Circle

 

Dine the last Tuesday of the month.  Goals: redecorate the crib room and plan to improve the church office.

Groups meeting for Study and Christian Fellowship:

Circle of Blessings

Ages – 20’s – 30’s.  A group of young women in the church who meet the first Friday of each month at 9:30 am in the church Youth Room.  Babysitting is provided for their many children under school age – cost is split between members attending.  They do mission projects within the building of the church and listen to the Nooma DVD series.

 The Serendipity Circle

Ages range from 40’s – 50’s.  A group of women in the church who meet the first Tuesday of each month in the church office.   They do mission projects within the building of Avon Lake Presbyterian Church, listen to taped Bible studies and a variety of short, meaningful articles and go out to dinner together three times a year.

Circle of SMILES

Wide demographic in ages – 40’s – 80’s

Meet 3rd Thursday of the month with a potluck in December (alternate homes/discussion leaders)
Friendship and fellowship

Circle of Love

Ages range from 50’s – 80’s. Carpooling available.  Meets the 4th Thursday of the month at 1:00 p.m. in the church library.  Format is socializing, studying a book/discuss  A Hop, Skip and a Jump Through the Bible: read one chapter a month.

The Circle of Friends

Demographic is mostly working women but not exclusively - 4th Tuesday of the month - church library - 7:30 – 9 p.m. Studying Encounters with Jesus and The Hole in the Gospel.  Format: Sharing, discussion and dessert Restaurant at Xmas and at the end of the year.

Sarah Circle

Demographic is some working women but not exclusively – 2nd Wednesday of the month at 7:00 pm at member’s homes. Format: Sharing, discussion and dessert at a Restaurant at Xmas and at the end of the year.

 

The Circle of Hope

Wide demographic in ages – have added a lot of new members recently Distinguishing feature: positive attitude

Third Wednesday of the month from 9:30 a.m – 11 a.m. at the church library

Format is fellowship with discussion of Christianity – also studying A Hop, Skip and A Jump Through the Bible.

Ruth Circle

Wide demographic in ages – have added a lot of new members recently.
Third Tuesday of the month at 1:00 pm in the church library.  Bible study and Christmas dinner out.
